Client Profile:
Charitable organization that works to empower communities to create positive change in a rural area of Siaya County in Western Kenya.
Programs in the area of advocacy (specially rights of girls and women), economic empowerment, purified watersupply and a TVET school for young adults are provided, supported by private donors as well as international charity organizations.
Tasks:
Review the current finance operation, accounting and accounting processes.
Provide recommendations to the management on how to control current operational costs and optimize business practices and processes based on cost efficiency and capability, improve Quickbooks utilization.
Evaluate current financial performance, financial planning & forecasting, cash flow management for individual projects.
Results:
Recommendation for improvement of accounting and reporting structures have been provided.
Baseline for efficient project and operations CoA was elaborated, with prove of concept by implementing the revised Chart of Accounts for a local community project, including monthly business management reports and reports to the sponsoring organizations.
