Client Profile:
The Skills Development Programme (SDP) is a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and is implemented by Swisscontact in a consortium with INBAS and in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT) and the Ministry of Tourism (MoT). The Programme works closely with the goverment at the national and provincial level, as well as with partners such an the national Employment Agency and private companies.
Tasks:
- Follow-up on the previous year’s assignment
- Review the status of implementation of the recommendations made at the time and to make suggestions for further development
Results:
The expert visited a total of 5 schools in Pursat, Battambang and Siem Reap, together with the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT) and a representative of the SDP team in Cambodia. The aim was to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the teaching material and school activities in the field of Masonry; to discuss the results of the visits; and to develop ideas for improvements during a 3-day seminar at the National Polytechnic Institute of Angkor (NPIA) in Siem Reap. The final report, based on the results of the school visits and the seminar, was presented by Karl Dillier to the representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT). Karl Dillier’s conclusions and suggestions for further action were discussed and approved.
