The Food Products company is a small and young family business with today 3 employees. They produce and sell potato chips, frozen french fries and vegetables to Hotels, Restaurants and Guesthouses in Kathmandu and Lukla. The products are well accepted and the capacity has grown to the limits at present facility. It is the wish to further expand and find a possible partner for the distribution.
The expert has been given following tasks: – establish new layout plan for actual facility for max. possible capacity – advise and optimise organisation, management and planning for it – draw up and implement new production scheduling and planning – calculate actual costs for prizing and profit and loss evaluations – do bottle neck analysis with possible solutions
– Actual production process was mapped and evaluted for bottlenecks. – A new layout was drawn up with indication of max. capacity for the site. – A time plan of the production was done and new scheduling proposed. – Hygiene and organisational training was given including documentation. – Detailed priority list was established for the required improvement actions.
