Client Profile:
The school is a small private school with around 400 students from Nursery to Grade 10, and 17 teachers.The school is located along the main road in Biratnagar, and was founded 22 years ago by the father of the present principal. The principal and his wife are two of the five shareholders. Infrastructure and equipment are rather simple. The students often come from a poor background with illiterate parents. The English standard of the school is very poor.
Tasks:
- 35 online class visits with all the teachers, subjects and class levels (two mobile phones in the classroom served as cameras; the internet connection was often very poor and class observation therefore difficult)
- Written feedback after every class visit
- 3 workshops: 1. Lesson Planning, 2. Motivation, 3. Classroom Management
- Several WhatsApp talks with the principal and the coordinator
Results:
The implementation of our proposals was rather poor, especially at the lower level.
