Client Profile:
Gautam School is (according to the results in the board exams) one of the most efficient schools in the Parsa District of Nepal. It consists of classes from Nursery up to grade 10, with mostly 4 sections per grade and 40 to 50 students in one class. A total of 75 teachers are teaching the approx. 2100 students in two big buildings and a hostel.
Tasks:
Class visits incl. feedback to the teachers; 13 workshops for the teachers (Peadagogical Basics, Motivation, Classroom management, Teaching Methods, Lesson Planning, Homework, Feedback, Metacognition, English, Science, Mathmematics, Good Questions and Swiss Education System), 3 for the management (Administration, Management and Quality) and 1 for the grade 10 students (Switzerland).
Results:
Many teachers started to implement step by step the newly learnt techniques. The management seems to be ready to enforce and control the application of a more child-like and more efficient teaching style instead of the traditional lecturing in front of the students. The management team will stay in contact and report on a regular basis about the changes.
