Client Profile:
The client is a producer of lime for use in agriculture and other applications. It is a major employer in the local area and a source of skilled jobs.
Tasks:
The lime kilns use a different fuel from other operations on the production site, namely the cement plant. The expert was asked to suggest modifications to the design of the lime kilns. The idea being that these would permit the lime kilns to use the same fuel as other plant.
Results:
After reviewing the specifications of the kilns, consulting with fuel experts, and extensive calculations based on data provided by the client, the expert was able to suggest a modification, that has the potential to solve the problem. He provided a detailed technical drawing and materials recommendations. Testing of the proposed solution is expected to take place in Summer 2023.
