We Present

Welcome Isabelle – our new Programme Manager from 1 November
We are very excited to welcome Isabelle Gemperle as the new Programme Manager of the SEC. Isabelle has been with Swisscontact for many years, most recently serving as Deputy Programme Manager of the Development Programme, the centre piece of Swisscontact. Since the SEC is part of this programme, Isabelle is already extremely familiar with our services, processes, and team, just as the team is very familiar with her.

With her many years of experience, Isabelle’s strategic thinking and warm personality make her a great asset to the SEC. She brings not only in-depth knowledge of international development cooperation, but also a deep understanding of the impact and importance of voluntary engagement.

In addition, Isabelle has a bachelor’s degree in international business management and brings valuable experience from the private sector. She understands the dynamics and needs of SMEs and institutions – even in challenging contexts – and knows how to skillfully navigate cultural nuances. This perspective will also be of great value to the SEC.

Throughout her career, Isabelle has supported a wide range of projects in developing and emerging countries. Although she has not lived in the Global South, she brings a keen sense of local realities – based on solid practical experience, including a two-month stay in Uganda.

On a personal note, Isabelle welcomed her daughter last year. This is a new chapter in her life that she is embracing with joy and serenity and we are confident this new perspective will also enrich our programme.

Thank you, Beni – our Interim Manager
A big thank you goes to Beni Lang, who is leading the SEC as interim Programme Manager during the transition period.

Beni has been with Swisscontact for many years and has extensive experience in managing global programmes. Before joining the Global Office in Zurich, he was active in the field, including as Regional Director for Latin America, and knows the operational side of development cooperation first-hand.

With his calm and structured approach, he is guiding the SEC team confidently through this transition phase, ensuring clear communication and steady progress, for which we are very grateful.
