The company is an important producer of alkyd resins and polymer emulsions. On two production sites, it employs 250 staff. Its customers are mainly african paint and varnish manufacturers but also european companies.
Tasks:
The company has hundred of tons “hazardous waste” deriving from packaging material, debris and solvents from cleaning of reactors. The task is to reduce the amount of hazardous waste and to find means and ways to dispose of the waste in a safe way.
Results:
After a thorough analysis of processes and the waste fractions, the amount of hazardous waste could be reduced by at least 50%.
