Client Profile:
The client is in the Agrobusiness and supplies locally grown high quality fresh vegetables and fruits to Hotels and Restaurants and exporting fresh vegetables to the golf states. The company is succesfull and keen to grow the daily quantities for exports. They work together with rural development projects and through them Swisscontact and SEC were approached for technical assistance for postharvest, storage and logistic management.
Tasks:
- Increase handling efficiency to decrease postharvest losses
- Training of employees in product handling and cold room storage
- Advice on postharvest efficiency increase and export management
- Assist and support technical demands for equipment purchase
- Support innovation projects for adapted packaging and handling
- Advice about possible future investments and expansions

- Training done with all staff and documentation given
- Training of farmers on postharvest handling and transport of fresh vegetables
