Client Profile:
The Vineyard Winery company was founded in 2007 as a private initiative. It is the first vineyard in Nepal and the first who produces wine from incountry ripened grapes. They received SEC expert consultations from the year 2014 onwards. First in the sector of wine making, than wine control and vine prunning, wine tasting, business promotion and vineyard management.
Tasks:
– Technical support to produce quality wine. – Teaching the proper lab testing of wine. – Giving knowledge of cellar wine storage and handling the machines. – Selecting the vine variety for quality wine in order to extend the vineyard. – Supporting the creation of wine cellar and modern equipment in new vineyard.
Results:
Till now, 5 hectares of vineyards planted and in 2016, an outcome of 5’000 bottles of wine have been produced. Seasonal work in the vineyard, new binding system introduced with material from Switzerland, wines analyzed and prepared for the filling, wine tanks produced in local workshop, first plans for a cellar and marketing strategy for the future.
