Client Profile:
Birtamode B&C hospital is a new privetly owned general hospital in the south east region of Nepal. The owners are local people. The idea is, that all medical specialities are represented by specialist doctors, and that in a few months time, a medical college with about 100 medical students per year could be started. It has an OPD house and an in-patient building. Lab, CT and MRI are already present, planned is a radiotherapy and an angiology/cardiology lab. There is collaboration with Kathmandu and India.
Tasks:
Support for the management of the hospital: a) inter- and intradepartmental coordination b) development of trained human resources c) effective and efficient services to patients d) hospital management practices and ISO certification
Results:
Discuss various important hospital management points and show ways of improving them: – medical and financial yearly reports, vision and mission – involving superior doctors and nurses in hospital management activities – hospital strategy according to Prof. Porter and Kaplan, Harvard – quality management, including ISO 9000/9001:2015 – interprofessional working together: benefit for patients – staff development: starting courses for nurses in various activities – importance of computerized medicine
