Client Profile:
The Polytechnic Institute is a private multidisplinary technical college and vocational institute affilitated to CTEVT/Nepal Government. Pathibara came into existence after acknowledging of the gap between demand and supply of technical human resources in the market. The institute started by providing vocational training to youth.
The Institute is a partner of SSRP (Skills for Safe Reconstruction) and AfD.
Tasks:
The scope of the Swisscontact project included the following:
- Providing clear guidlines regarding earthquake resilience building construction technique to teaching staffs
- Providing training on earthquake resilience building construction technique to civil sub-overseer students.
- Observation in field, providing technical feedback and coaching to trained masons during building of private houses.
Results:
Within the first 3 weeks lessons given in earthquake resilience building construction technique to the civil sub-overseer students.
The staff is very motivated to learn more about earthquake resilience construction technique.
It is recommended to make a report of the observations of the rural houses in construction in Sindhuli.
