Client Profile:
The client is a private school located in the rural outskirts of Kathmandu (close to the airport) with about 500 students. The infrastructure and equipment at the school is rather poor and the education level of the teachers is rather low. However, the headmaster and the school board (owners of the school) are willing to change many things to improve the effectiveness of the teaching.
Tasks:
- 4 Sessions with the school board
- Many talks with the school management
- 66 class visits including providing feedback
- 3 workshops for all teachers
Results:
As a result of my observations and suggestions the principal bought 24 new laptops for the computer room and 8 new microscopes and a lot of teaching material for the science lab.
After I left, he shifted the staff room out of the dancing hall, installed new book racks in the library and bought new benches for the science lab.
He seems to be willing to upgrade the standard of the infrastructure and also the quality of teaching in his school.
