Client Profile:
Swisscontact leads a project to increase skills for the safe reconstruction of buildings (SSRP). Part of this project is the training of existing masons to build houses following the existing recommendations of earthquake resilient building construction. SSRP asked SEC to support the project and its patner AfD, a profit oriented company for the implementation of the mason’s training in Sindhuli district
Tasks:
The assignment consisted of sharing knowledge and expertise on earthquake resilient building construction. Focus of this work were: • Provide clear guidelines to teaching staffs of AfD and participants for the existing training • Observation in the field, provide technical feedback and coaching to trained masons during building trainings
Results:
Clear guidelines could be given to trainers in methodical and didactical subjects to improve effect of trainings. Technical advice was given to ensure quality of earthquake resilient building construction to trainers and to masons during practical training. Numerous recommendations has been made to the clients to improve the whole process for future masons’s trainings
