Client Profile:
The Management is responsible for all aspects of the private and public transport as well as for its emissions (noise, air pollution) in the city (ca. 250’000 inhabitants) and in the department of Loja; this means planning, organizing, regulating and supervising (including periodical controls of all motor vehicles), transport security and public transport (ca. 230 buses with respective owners, organized in 4 bus services).
Tasks:
Support has been expected form the consultant in the development of technical and organizational instructions and regulations, as well as in the staff instruction in view of the optimization of the bus service, the increase of quality and the improvement of working relationships.
Results:
The consultant supported to analyze and account for the public transport system inside the whole traffic (structure, service, weak points) and to develop proposed solutions in collaboration with the management (UMTTTSV). Bus drivers who participated in further education courses, as well as students of architecture and urban planning, were included in this process.
