Client Profile:
NAST (Dhangadhi Engineering College) is a private educational institution in Western Nepal which has been founded to promote technical and management skills and competencies. The college aims to foster greater opportunities of learning for students as well as to facilitate the wider development of the region.
Tasks:
Supporting the faculties of the management department of NAST in using modern techniques of teaching.
Results:
The expert conducted with each lecturer several class observations which were supported by faculty workshops about teaching theory and methodology with a focus on problem-based learning and case study methods. With the students, the expert held a lecture and workshop about how to write a business plan to foster the students’ entrepreneurial skills.
It is recommended that NAST college defines a dedicated project leader who takes on the initiated steps in extending the lecturing techniques towards more problem-based, student-centered methods.
