Client Profile:
Alok Vidyashram is a private school in Kathmandu with about 250 students from 4 to 18 years . The Executive Director has approached the SEC for support in transfering the school management from single guidance into a professional management system and teacher training.
Tasks:
The expert has been given the following tasks:
– developing a professional management system for the school
– conducting teacher training
– attending interviews for the recruitment of new management staff
– developing a performance appraisal format and testing it
Results:
In the first two weeks of the assignment, Annette Schifferli observed the teachers and provided workshops on attitudes and lesson planning. At the same time she developed an organisational chart for the school upon which new positions were advertised. Together with the Executive Director job descriptions were defined for the existing as well as the new positions.
In the third week, interviews were conducted and several positions could be filled. The newly developed performance appraisal form was tested and evaluated together with management.
