Client Profile:
The client is active in the field of beekeeping and had already a SEC assignement 3 years ago regarding Apitherapie.
Now the client is keen on entering into the natural/organic cosmetics business with bee products. In a first step, an introduction to natural cosmetics and their components was given.
Tasks:
The following topics were discussed:
– Introduction to formulation technology
– Components and emulsifiers, Bee products as additives in formulations
– Safety and hygiene requirements
– Laboratory and production equipment
In addition, advice was given on the production of tablets.
Results:
Three different standard formulations were produced using the company’s own bee products (wax, pollen, propolis). The composition of a propolis tablet was also optimized.
I recommend the client as a next step to work out a business plan in order to evaluate the feasibility of the upcoming investments.
The final cosmetic formulations can then be worked out during a follow up assignment.
