The client is an engineering office and works especially in ropeway and cable-car development. The company is keen on learning more about ropeway technology and is interested to work together with Swiss ropeway companies.
Tasks:
The expert has given the following tasks:
- Support for installation of the new Kalinchowk Cable-car near Charikot.
- Control of the electromechanical parts of the ropeway.
- Commissioning of the ropeway.
- Preparation of a manual for operation and maintenance of the cable car
Results:
The Kalinchowk Cablecar is a project in which a large part of the works could be carried out by local enterprises. Electromechanical equipment was delivered by Swiss companies. With a good cooperation with Nepalese companies the costs of the project could be lowered considerably.
Ropeway & Cablecar already has inquiries to build similar ropeways in Nepal.
It is recommended by Martin Liesch to make a final inspection of the ropeway after finished work in accordannce to Swiss standarts.
